Q22) What is the cost of the offering and the device?
Q23) How can I avail this device? Through what channels will it be made available?
The device will be available online (online renewal or purchase) and through our agents. Once you opt for this service, the device will be delivered to you within 2 weeks.
Q24) Can this offering be included in my existing car insurance policy?
This feature can be availed only at the time of renewal or purchasing a new policy.
Q 25) Is my data safe with the insurance company?
Yes, your data is safe with us using 256 bit encrypted algorithm on a secured server in India.
Q 26) Will the company know my location at all times? How can I ensure privacy?
The car owner is the primary controller of the data and can even turn off location tracking. However it is in the customer’s interest to share the location with the insurance company, as in case of any accident, we will be able to trace it.
Q 27) What happens in case the device tracks bad driving behavior? Does the customer have to pay higher premiums?
No, the idea behind this initiative is to encourage good driving behavior.
Q 28) What if there is no network coverage? Will the device still track the data?
The data will be stored locally on the unit and will be transmitted to the servers when car comes into the network area.
Q 29) What if I want to discontinue the service at any point during my policy period?
Once you’ve opted for the service, it will be available for the entire policy period. However the service may be discontinued at any time by simply detaching the device from the car which needs to be returned to Bajaj Allianz GIC.
Q 30) What if I plug it in another car that I own?
We will get an alert and the device will be disabled since it is programmed to function only on the car for which the policy has been purchased.
Q 31) Will Drivesmart be available to customers buying a liability only policy from BAGIC?
No, Drivesmart will only be made available to customers buying the package policy.
Q 32) Some high end vehicles comes with anti-theft device. Can the app be integrated with them?
No, the Drivesmart application is a part of the self-service ‘Insurance Wallet ‘app offered by Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company to its customers. Hence, it cannot be integrated with the anti-theft device or the car entertainment unit offered by the manufacturer.
Q 33) Are there any recurring costs?
There are no recurring costs once you opt for the device.
Q 34) Will it have an impact on my vehicle’s manufacturing warranty?
This is a read only device, it will only collect data. Hence it has no impact on the vehicle’s manufacturer’s warranty.
Q 35) Will the device drain out my car’s battery.
The device goes to the sleep mode when the car engine is switched off. It is advisable to remove the device when the car is not in use for more than 3 weeks.
